The Great North swim in Windermere attracted 6,000 competitors

Every wave of swimmers was allocated a different coloured hat.

Most swimmers were raising funds for charities

Every competitor received a medal.

 

 

 

 

 

The "little house" straddling a stream in Ambleside is a world-famous landmark. Entrance is free.
