Originally, farmers and traders used to meet in local valleys, villages and towns to show and sell animals, crafts and produce. Many Lakeland Shows still survive in various forms and provide an extra bonus for visitors wishing to extend their knowledge and understanding of the customs and traditions of the Lakes area. The dates of these shows for 2008 are shown on the News page. Many events are held in idyllic surroundings and are educational and fascinating for children and adults alike.
